Saturday, June 8th 2014 in New Jersey, comedian Tracy Morgan and a few others were involved in car accident when their limo bus was hit by a Wal Mart truck, leaving one of the men in the limo bus dead and three others in critical condition, including Tracy Morgan himself.
Morgan was with friends including comedian James McNair (aka Jimmy Mack) when their limo was involved in a six car accident caused due to Kevin Roeper, the driver of the Wal Mart truck, did not slow down in time in traffic and swerved into Morgan’s limo, causing the accident that sent the next five cars in front of Morgan’s limo into a domino effect of destruction. After their limo was hit, the car flipped which killed McNair almost instantly.
Morgan, comedian Ardie Fuqua Jr, and Jeffrey Millea, a friend of the two, were flown to Robert Wood Hospital. Another comedian friend of Morgan’s, Harris Stanton was treated for his injuries at the scene of the crash and was soon released.
Wal Mart president Bill Simon says of Roeper is found to be at fault that Wal Mart will take full responsibility for the accident. Roeper also turned himself in with the help of his lawyer and released on a 50, 000 bail the same night.
Morgan is still in critical condition says his ex-wife, who is deeply troubled that McNair has also passed, seeing that he has been a mentor to Morgan since he came into the business. Morgan is best known as a member of Saturday Night Live from 1996-2003, 30 Rock with Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin, and film roles in such films as Cop Out, The Longest Yard, Rio, Rio 2, How High, Half Baked, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Little Man.
Prayers go out to Morgan and his family, and all families injured in the accident.
