Rapper DMX, has passed away at the age of 50.
The rapper whose real name is Earl Simmons has recently passed after suffering a heart attack from an overdose. He has since been on life support. Doctors have ran brain tests to see if any improvement has been made to no avail. His family has released a statement on his passing on Friday.
DMX Has Had Massive Success In The Music & Movie Industry
He started his platinum-selling career in the early 1990s. HIs debut album, It’s Dark, and Hell Is Hot released to massive success. Major hits for the chart-topper were, “Party Up (Up In Here,)” “X Gon Give It To Ya,” “Who We Be,” “How’s It Going Down,” Best known as a member of the Ruff Ryders. But not only did he have a budding rap career. He starred in hit films such as, Belly, Romeo Must Die with the late singer Aaliyah. The two paired up for a track for the film, “Come Back In One Piece.” Cradle 2 The Grave,” Exit Wounds, Last Hour, etc. He also penned an autobiography of his memoirs entitled, “E.A.R.L.: The Autobiography of DMX.” His album titled, “Undisputed,” was released in September of 2012. Redemption of The Beast was released in 2015.

In addition, X has over seven albums and three Grammy nominations. Last year, DMX did a versuz battle with rapper Snoop Dogg which garnered over 500,000 views. Also, he starred in his own reality TV series on BET, “DMX: Soul of a Man,” back in 2006. Album, “And Then There Was X,” went certified six-times platinum. The Great Depression was his 4th album to hit the no. 1 spot on the Billboard charts. Grand Champ debuted at number 1 as well when it dropped.
Losing An Icon
Furthermore, DMX, struggled with both legal woes and drugs. But nothing takes away from the tremendous talent that he is. We are blessed to witness his musical genius.
