Sunday, March 14th was a night of breaking records on the Grammys. With such acts like Meagan Thee Stallion , Beyonce , Taylor Swift making history, it was certainly a night to remember. Beyonce won the most awards of any woman artist with a running total of 28. Megan wins two awards for Best New Artist as well as Best Rap Performance for her song Savage with Beyonce. Singer H.E.R. won song of the year for the track, “I Can’t Breathe.” Jhene Aiko hosted the premiere party event. While political comedian and host of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah hosted the award show.
Notable Winners of The Night
‘Blank Space,” singer Taylor Swift won album of the year for Folklore. Best Pop Solo Performance was awarded to Harry Styles for Watermelon Sugar. Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga won for Best Pop/Duo Performance for “Rain on Me.” Dua Lipa won for Best Pop Vocal Album for Future Nostalgia. Queen Bey won Best R&B Performance for Black Parade and also for Best Music Video for Brown Skin Girl. Soulful singer Ledisi won for Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Anything For You.”
The award for Best R&B Song went to the following artists, Robert Glasper, Meshell Ndegeocello & Gabriella Wilson, songwriters (Robert Glasper Featuring H.E.R. & Meshell Ndegeocello) for Better Than I Imagine. John Legend took home the Best R&B Album for Bigger Love. Best Melodic Rap Performance was awarded to half of the new Silk Sonic duo Anderson .Paak for Lockdown. The track Savage wins Best Rap Song, Legendary Rap Artists Nas wins a grammy for his 13th studio album King’s Disease. Controversial rapper Kanye West wins Best Contemporary Christian Music album for Jesus is King. Comedian Tiffany Haddish wins an award for Best Comedy album for Black Mitzvah.
