Grammy award winner, and 24K Magic singer Bruno Mars has teamed up with Anderson .Paak to form the group Silk Sonic. Mars has taken to Twitter recently to let them be a last-minute addition to the performance roster. The duo just released, “Leave The Door Open,” video last Friday as part of their upcoming album.
In a tweet posted yesterday, Mars ask to be added to the lineup after a list of the artist was released by CBS. He even states that they’ll send in an audition tape. “We just released a song and could really use the promotion right now. We have a lot riding on this record (and the Pelican’s game but that’s another story). We haven’t been able to perform for a while and just want to sing.” You can tell he is passionate about performing. Because honestly, we all know that’s what he does best. Adding that they will follow all COVID precautions and just wants a chance for Silk Sonic to shine.
Mars has won album of the year and record of the year at the Grammy awards in 2016 for “24K Magic” and again for “That’s What I Like,” at the 2018 Grammy awards. The track won song of the Year, Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song.
What do you think of Bruno Mars tweeting to ask to perform at the Grammys? We’d certainly love to see them perform. Are you planning to watch this year’s Grammys airing this Sunday at 5pm PT/8ET.
