MARIAH CAREY SUED BY BROTHER FOR DEFAMATION CLAIMS FROM SINGER’S MEMOIR

Singer Mariah Carey is being sued by her older brother Morgan Carey for defamation. According to reports she falsely states him as violent in her 2020 memoir ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey.

Claims he was allegedly violent towards their mother was detailed in the book, based on reports from TMZ. Supposedly,, there’s a passage in the book that reads, “It took twelve cops to pull my brother and father apart. The big bodies of men, all entangled like a swirling hurricane, crashed loudly into the living room. I was a little girl with very few memories of a big brother who protected me. More often, I felt I had to protect myself from him, and sometimes I would find myself protecting my mother from him too.”

Carey’s brother stated that what was depicted in the memoir didn’t happen and that it’s showcasing him in a negative light. He also adds that, fights never took place between him and his mother. It would never take 12 officers to respond to a domestic violence dispute.

Morgan Carey is suing for defamation and emotional distress according to reports for the false allegations pointed out within the memoir.

Morgan is a record producer, fitness trainer, entrepreneur and former model.
