Man Charged in The Murder of Cedric “SWAB” Cotton From The R&B Group IDEAL

Police believe they’ve found the man responsible for the murder of R&B group Ideal member, Cedric “Swab” Cotton. Officers say an anonymous tip led them to the arrest of Andre Ford. Cedric Cotton was 46-years old when he was stabbed to death outside of a Fondren food mart in Houston, Texas last month.

“He’d ride his little bike there to get a quick cigarette,” His mother Delores Floyd stated in an interview with ABC news last month. “Then the next thing I know. I get this call. I hear people…he comes here everyday. He doesn’t bother anybody. He’s a good guy.”

Cotton’s uncle, William King recalled the tragic incident. “I just saw him lying there. There was nothing I could do except cry,” King said.

Floyd is relieved that someone has now stepped up to help bring her son’s killer to justice. “They came to our rescue and they were there for us. It’s like they really stayed on the case, contacted me. Then 17 days later he was caught. Awesome!”

Cotton, went by the stage name, ‘Swab’ when he performed with the group Ideal which he started with his brother, cousin and high school friend. The group debuted in 1999 with hit songs, “Whatever,” “Get Gone,” and ‘Creep Inn.” He lives behind a 21-year-old son.
