The Night of Vivid Fashion Couture

The first extravagant Monday in May, is the biggest iconic nights in the fashion world. It’s called the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit, that raises money for the Costume Institute; basically the fashion department of New York. Celebrities, film starts, politicians and business guests are invited to the event. The exhibit for 2016 is called “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” with the honorary chairwoman of the gala, Anna Wintour.

From the star studded stars, there were many who were very well dressed and others who dressed up in their own world. Starting off with one of the best dressed guests is Claire Danes. The designer of her dress is Zac Posen and he truly created a masterpiece. It is a walking Disney dream, which lights up in the dark. The structured silhouette of the dreamy gown fits to the occasion of glamour and high fashion. The next best dressed celebrity was Demi Lovato, who wore a sequined Moschino gown by Jeremy Scott. This gown matched her edgy style of clothing and personality. As well as the exhibit, using the printed gold detail of the dress, most likely using technology. Lastly, Kate Hudson was another celebrity whose outfit choice was fabulous. It seems her dress is laser cut by the design and shape of bodice. Overall, it was a statement design by Versace!

Some celebrities who dressed in their own world, their outfits were interesting but not too elegant. To start off with is Michelle Monaghan, whose gown was unflattering. It looks like the designer just threw ideas onto a dressed and sewed it from there. The design is too wild with the ruffles, metallic bodice, and uneven straps. Another celebrity is Lady GaGa; with her sky high heels, fishnet tights, and geometric bodysuit and jacket. The whole look is messy because too much is going on and doesn’t look professional. The last celebrity who did not wear her outfit gracefully is Michelle Williams. Her short black dress is not flattering at all because it makes her torso look short and stout. It also looks like she is uncomfortable by looking at her posture.

May 1st is a night filled of glamour, exquisite design, and vivid fashion. Thank you to the designers who create intriguing and magical designs!
